The concept of a Sound/Shift is a "living gallery installation" in which multiple performers play in shifts to produce an ever-evolving soundscape. Often performed over extended periods of time, a Sound/Shift may involve as many as a hundred musicians who play in clusters of 3 to 5, entering and exiting at staggered intervals to create an ever-changing ensemble.
